Backstory

I underwent lumbar fusion surgery because my life-long chronic back pain reached a level that I could no longer gig. I could no longer think clearly and move easefully.

The fusion itself appears to have been a success, but an unexpected inflammation around my low-back nerve roots has made it impossible for me to sit, stand, or walk without debilitating pain and numbness in my left leg. I have been mostly confined to a bed since October 29th. I make myself get up with a walker to keep myself moving and take care of some basic necessities, but the effort leaves me panting and writhing in pain.

I am incredibly grateful that my mother decided to come live with me to help me with meals and other tasks. Grateful, also, for friends who visited me during my incredibly taxing hospital stay to bring me snacks and keep me company.

Trying to stay positive and pray for healing so I can stand long enough to be able to shave ;]
